You can win awards in two categories:
1. Best Print Effort
Awarded for the print marketing effort that best demonstrates creativity, accurate representation of product and
market that meet stated objectives.
2. Best Non-Print Effort
Awarded for a marketing effort that utilizes a non-print platform to achieve stated goals. Submissions may include,
but are not limited to, email (single topic or campaign), Website, telemarketing or fax marketing efforts.
Who and what's eligible to show their stuff?
- Owners of products/publications and agencies/consultants acting on their own behalf may enter. Each submission must be accompanied an entry fee: $85 for members of the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) and $125 for non-SIPA members.
- Submitted promotional efforts must have been utilized for the first time - or significantly changed or enhanced during calendar year 2009.
Who makes the call?
Judges selected by a committee of the Specialized Information Publishers Foundation will choose the winners. Barbara
Kaplowitz, veteran marketer, journalist and entrepreneur, will chair this year's final judging panel. There will be at
least two additional final judges joining her. Judges and the awards committee
have the right to decide on the eligibility of entries and to transfer entries from one category to the other. Judges may
decide not to give awards in any particular category. Decisions of the judges are final.
How can you enter?
Multiple entries within individual categories and in separate categories are permitted. The following rules MUST
be followed, or submissions will be declared
ineligible.
Every entry must:
- Be made under separate cover;
- Contain a separate entry form and cover letter;
- Be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee, payable to SIPF. Fees for multiple entries may be included in one check.

$125 Non-SIPA Members
Now follow these steps:
Step 1: Tell us which category(ies)* you're entering.
Complete the entry form, clearly marking the specific award for which you wish to compete.
Step 2: Provide a copy or URL of the marketing item being submitted.
For print or e-mail products, submit one copy of the marketing piece being nominated. For
electronic entries, include the specific URL for the promotion effort. If appropriate, also provide a print copy of the electronic
submission.
Step 3: Show your stuff and make your pitch to the judges.
With each entry you've got to give us the low-down on why you think the material is award-worthy. Include any
relevant background information to make your case, such as:
- What was the genesis of the promotion?

What sources, documents and research
were used to create the entry? - What were the stated internal goals for the entry?
- What were the outcome/results of the entry?
- What follow-up marketing efforts apply to this entry?
- What unique, difficult or other special circumstances surround the entry?
- How much time was spent on the project?
- What advice can you offer to others setting out to craft similar content/promotions?
- What kind of an impact does this entry have on your audience?

For Websites or ongoing marketing efforts, please provide details on award-worthy
changes made during 2009. The more specifics, the better.
